Accounting Software

Small business accounting software. Sage was founded in Newcastle-upon-Tyne England in 1981 by David Goldman.

David needed to automate the print estimating and basic accounting process for his own business.

Together David with a team of Newcastle University students worked on developing a software to manage this more efficiently.

He then realized that other companies could also benefit from this and formed Sage in 1981 to begin selling the software.

Sage floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1989 and in 1999 they entered the FTSE 100 where we still remain today.
